(Some) Highschool Dropouts to get a second chance
The Ontario Government today announced its rolling outa new program to enable highschool dropouts in select areasa chance to get some work done.
Teens between the ages of 16-19 will be able to do up to 27 weeks of paid work with a government organization while earning up to 10 highschool credits towards a diploma.
Two schools in the GTA, Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute in Scarborough and Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School in the northwest area of Toronto, are the first of a broader plan the government has to lower dropout rates in the province.
