Drake's Party in a Box

Last weekThe Drake Hotelcelebrated the end of the year hosting a great five day music series that made the holiday break a little warmer. What's in the Boxfeatured an outstanding lineup of musicians and DJs from different genres, showcasing a nice melting pot of some of the best acts of 2007.

I attended day one and three, and both nights got out of control (in a good way).

On day one I was impressed with the heavy beats ofGhislain Poirierwhich reminded me of some other music that I love byModeselektor(I later found out Poirier has done remixes for them). But the headliner that night wasScratch Bastidwho closed out the night with one of his always bumping and fun sets.

On day threeBonjayfar exceeded my expectations. I'd never seen them live before and they threw a solid set that made the crowd go nuts. ThenThunderheistmanaged to step it up a notch and brought the crowd crammed into theDrake Undergroundnot far from something resembling mayhem.
